Final measurement control: what is it and how does it work?

Why is it necessary to have standardized measurements?

The advent of mass production made it necessary to have a system that would allow the creation of garments suitable for a wide audience, without the need for custom tailoring. For this reason, standardized measurements were introduced, simplifying the production and distribution of clothing on a large scale.

During the production process, measurement control is essential to ensure that the garment complies with the required standards. Only after verifying the conformity and quality of the product can the next stages of production take place.

Final measurement control in garment production

Final measurement control is a fundamental step in the production of clothing. This step ensures that the garments meet the specifications requested by the client after the ironing stage and before shipping.
Checking measurements only after the ironing phase is essential. Heat and steam, especially in denim, can affect the fabric’s dimensions, particularly after specific treatments.

How does the final measurement control work at Fun Factory Mode?

The process can take place in several ways and may vary depending on the client’s needs. Fun Factory Mode offers the option of performing the garment control by sampling, 100% control (on request), or direct client verification. Let’s explore these in more detail.

Sampling control is the most common method. One or more representative garment samples are selected to check that the measurements meet the specifications requested by the client. Measurement methods include tape measures, digital calipers, and standard mannequins, used to compare the dimensions with the technical sheet. Depending on the type of garment, the length, width, waist, sleeves, and other critical points are checked. If the sample complies, the lot is considered compliant and suitable for shipment.

100% control, on the other hand, is carried out at the client’s request and consists of a complete inspection of each individual garment. This ensures maximum precision, using the measurement methods mentioned above.

Finally, we offer the possibility of direct verification by the client, where the client can come to the site to personally perform the inspection before shipment. This allows the client to directly verify the quality of the garments before they are shipped to retail stores or end customers.

Additionally, at Fun Factory Mode, we conduct a packing list check to ensure that the shipped packages match exactly the client’s order.
